Display Energy Certificate (DEC)

When it comes to business, the rules and regulations of various things are always changing, and it is important to keep up to date. Amongst the fastest changing legislature is that governing business gas practices, one of which incorporates the display energy certificate.

The display energy certificate, or DEC, applies if your building features a floor space of more than 1000m2, and if you provide a public service. The DEC basically assesses the energy efficiency of the public buildings. This includes anything from schools and museums to hospitals and country councils. The building is then given a rating from A to G, with A being the most energy efficient. The DEC also aims to suggest ways in which energy can be saved, costs can be reduced, and less wastage can take place.

When it comes to good business gas usage practices, a DEC is a great tool to monitor and alter your energy efficiency.
